Ancient Erymna
Ormana is a historic village located at an altitude of 1,000 meters in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, connected to İbradı district of Antalya. It was founded on the ancient city known as "Erymna" during the Roman Empire.
Awarded "World's Best Tourism Village" by the United Nations Tourism Organization in 2024, Ormana continues to keep its 700-year history and cultural heritage alive. There are more than 300 historic button houses in the village.

Historic Heritage
The history of Ormana extends to the Luwians, one of the oldest peoples of Anatolia. The name "Erymna" is thought to come from "Avrumna" meaning "altar people, altar region" in Luwian language. Over time, it became Orumna, then Ormana.
The city surrendered to Alexander the Great in 334 BC and came under Turkish rule with Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat's conquest of the region in 1226. During the Seljuk period, important caravan routes connecting Konya to the Mediterranean passed through here.
The historic houses and ancient Erymna City ruins in Ormana Village are under protection. It was accepted as a member of ÇEKÜL Foundation Historic Cities Union in 2012. The village has been declared an urban conservation area to protect its architectural texture.
